French Midcentury Woven Basket Demijohn Wine Bottle. Collectible Vintage Wine Bottle/Cask, wicker wrapped basket housing, 12 H. Imperfect – one handle has unravelled. Basket color is natural wood (tan & brown) – with a little dust. Bottle color is green. Demijohn bottles are generally large oval or globe-shaped glass bottles and were used as assessories in French country and farmhouse style homes for decor. Ere used in Europe as early as the 1400s for fermenting wine and beer. Family Estate Items for sale. All items are from my dad’s 50+ years of collecting.
