Antique 1900s German Langbien Split Frame Corkscrew Wine / Champagne Bottle Opener. This opener has a nickle plated steel Split shaft frame and ring. (Almost identical to the Columbus German Opener with screw top and steel handle instead of a spring and wood handle) This design makes removing the cork from the worm simple. The frame has been stamped “Langbien” on one side and Germany on the other. To use this you simply twist the bladed worm (screw) into the cork as you turn the screw into the cork the handle will slowly help pull the cork from the bottle. Once the cork is pulled lift the ring and spread the barrel to gain access to the cork to remove. Overall its 5″ long with a 2-3/4″ long handle.
