This is a French Antique Green Glass Demijohn Wine Bottle. Very old Circalate 19th century(1880’s). The Antique French glass wine jug was made to store wine in southern France. The demijohn bottle is a light green color with a a wonderful curved form. It Has the traditional tough cut top. Has air bubbles within the Green glass. Originally used for storing wine and spirits, demijohns were in wide use from the 1700s to the early 1900s. Today, they can be used as decorative accessories anywhere in the home, or re-purposed into lamps. The term demijohn or Dame-Jeanne as it’s known in France, refers to any glass vessel with a large body and small neck. H 21″ X 14″ W.
